HANGZHOU SHOPPING

VIEW: LOOKING AT PUDONG AND PEARL TOWER IN SHANGHAI FROM THE BUND.
Well, by virtue of the fact that our rink is in the MIXC, by far the most modern and luxurious shopping mall in all of China, its safe to say you'll be surrounded by a million square meters of the best shopping in the country. If you're into souvineers then there are numerous places to find those as well. Hangzhou is particularly famous for silk and tea and there is a silk market which is a "must see".

Want and adventure for the day? Hop on one of the "D" trains to Shanghai. Ticket costs around USD$8 one way. The trains are luxury class and take only 70 minutes to get to that great city. There are train ticket shops located around the city and one is very close to the MIXC mall. On arrival in Shanghai, you can take the subway all the way to Peoples Square which is the main area for visitors and famous Nanjing Road a pedestrian street. It begins at the New World Emporium (which has a tiny ice rink on the 6th floor), and goes all the way to the Bund, that famous mile long walk next to the Huangpu River, overlooking the massive skyscrapers in Pudong. Want and adventure, cross the river and visit the Pearl Tower and the shopping malls nearby. The Super Brands Mall has another small ice rink on the 8th floor. The YuYan Gardens is a must see with its traditional Chinese buildings, Koi ponds and gift shops.

For another once in a lifetime adventure, take the subway over to the Maglev station and buy a round trip ticket to the Pudong Interntional Airport. The Maglev train is the only one of its kind in the world and moves by magnetic levitation at 450kph. The trip takes only 7 minutes.

And guess what, they are building a maglev train from Shanghai to Hangzhou cutting the travel time to less than 30 min from one city to another.
